LIFE on the Streets is a new ministry at LIFECHURCH. We officially kicked things off on July 20, 2011, with a great team of people who are on a mission to reach people in our city for God. We know from the Bible that God’s will is that none should perish. 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV) 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. We believe that we are to be used as ambassadors for God in this world to give as many people as we can the opportunity to hear the message of salvation. John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Life on the Streets goes out every Saturday, into different neighborhoods, in order to meet people where they are. Our desire is to get to know them better and hopefully begin a long-term friendship with them. We give them a LIFECHURCH gift bag, offer prayer for them or anyone they know, and invite them to attend one of LIFECHURCH’s weekly services if they do not currently go to church.

If you are interested in joining Life on the Streets, or just have questions regarding this ministry, please contact Jeanne Reese at 314-843-5575, ext. 207.

We thank you for standing with us in prayer, believing that through this ministry we will reach thousands of lost people in our city for God – one life at a time.

Testimonies

This past weekend, we went out witnessing in the city and had such a great harvest of souls. One lady, who had been brutally raped a couple of months ago, gave her heart to Christ. This lady had such a sweet spirit; she said that she immediately felt a burden lift from her chest as we prayed with her. As we were praying for people on the street, a young man came up to us and said he could feel our energy and it made him feel good. We knew that energy was "the Holy Spirit." God is so good and faithful, and the more we go out and I see people giving their hearts to the Lord, the more I want to continue doing God's work. I've even begun, on my own, writing people whom I knew who were in prison and telling them about Christ. I've always had a heart to pray for people, but now it's even stronger. I'm so happy to be part of this ministry. God is really doing a great work in me because of it.

We went to an apartment and a young woman came to the door. Introducing ourselves as being from LIFECHURCH, we asked if we could pray with her for anything. The woman explained to us that she had a six-year old autistic son, and she wanted us to pray for him. So we did.

When we finished praying for the son, we told the mother that God loved her so much; we then proceeded to ask her, if she were to die today, did she know whether or not she would go to heaven? She said no, then we shared salvation scriptures with her. When we asked if she would like to receive Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. She happily agreed.

I asked this young mother to repeat after me. I began to pray, "Dear, Lord Jesus." Then, as she said said "Dear, Lord Jesus," she began to cry. We finished the prayer with many tears. Afterwards she told us she had never gone to church in her whole life...that she never read the Bible nor prayed. She went on to say that a few days before we came to her door, she spoke out to God and said, "God, if you are real then please send someone." Then, when we showed up, she knew that God had answered her prayer.

We asked a gentlemen if he knew God loved him and, if he were to die, where he would spend eternity. He responded no to both questions, so we shared the gospel. He received Jesus into his heart, As were praying with him, the Holy Spirit fell and he began to shake under the power of God. After praying we asked how he felt, and he responded, "I'm clean. I'm clean!"

We got to pray with a young man and, after praying, we left. Two weeks later, we were out on the streets and this young man came up to us and told us God had healed him. He had a cold for over a month; within the week after we prayed, the cold went away. Glory to God!

We got to lead a young man to the Lord. Two weeks later, we ran into this young man again, and he told us that he he no longer desires to drink. We told him to keep his eyes on Jesus. You never catch a fish that’s already cleaned. Its our job to catch fish and let God clean them.
